|
Registered Interior Designers have invested a minimum of six years to achieve professional certification. Their journey starts with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in interior design from a CIDA accredited program, followed by practicing under a registered professional. Passing an intensive series of professional exams(NCIDQ) that are certified with the Council for Interior Design Qualifications are the next step prior to becoming members of a professional regulatory association, including the Interior Designers Institute of BC (IDIBC).
Due to the responsibility of their profession, RIDs must participate in ongoing regular professional development and maintain professional liability insurance throughout their career. A professional RID that is qualified by education, experience and examination similar to other titled professions assures that the individual RID meets the highest level of professional qualifications and industry registration standards in their scope of work.
