Mandy Farmer is the owner and CEO of Accent Inns Inc., a BC-based hospitality company that includes eight hotels under two brands (Accent Inns and Hotel Zed) plus a brand-new restaurant, ROAR, in Tofino BC. Under her leadership Accent Inns Inc. has enjoyed tremendous growth in profit and grown their portfolio from six hotels to eight and a restaurant. More important than that, Mandy has spearheaded spreading a positive work culture grounded in Core Values across the organization. Their Fall 2022 survey had a 95% participation rate and 98% reported being happy to work there!
Mandy was named RBC Women of Influence Entrepreneur of the Year in the Excellence category in 2020. Accent Inns Inc. was also nationally awarded Business of the Year in 2018 from the Tourism Industry Association of Canada for their outstanding growth. Mandy was named Hotelier of the Year in 2017 by Hotelier Magazine for her innovative approach to motels. She's also been ranked in Profit Magazine’s Top 100 Canadian Women Entrepreneurs and Chatelaine magazine named Mandy one of seven Red Hot Women Entrepreneurs.
Mandy is dedicated to people. Her proudest achievements are the ones linked to her team. Accent Inns Inc. was recently named one of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures™, she has won the Employees First Award from the Tourism Industry Association of BC and was highly commended in the Culture & Purposecategory of the North American Employee Engagement awards. She sits on the Hotel Association of Canada board as well as the Tourism Industry of Canada board and is a member of the International Women’s Forum, whose goal it is to promote females globally. When she isn’t at work she can be found ripping around on her bike or her skis and spending time with her amazing family in her hometown of Victoria, B.C.
